1930 La Salle Convertible Sedan for sale in Kentwood, Michigan

$129,900

What began as a vehicle to fill a void in marketing demographics for General Motors, the LaSalle, under the creative vision of Harley Earl, is widely regarded as the beginning of modern American automotive styling. Earl masterfully integrated both European and American styling creating a smaller more agile vehicle that retained the elegance of Cadillac€™s larger cars. The LaSalle was unlike anything built by an American automotive manufacturer. We are thrilled to bring to market this extremely rare and very elegant 1930 LaSalle All-Weather Phaeton. Only 239 vehicles carried the prestigious Fleetwood insignia as they were part of the semi custom line of LaSalle bodies conceived by Earl€™s €œArt and Colour€ department. The example offered here is nothing short of breath taking. A full, no expense spared restoration was performed on this car 20 years ago on a complete, running and driving example. In 2009, the car was again treated to a €œfreshening€ at an addition expense of 30 plus thousand dollars. The car has since been kept and maintained as a part of an exclusive private collection. The car is powered by its stock 340 cubic inch V8 transferred via a 3 speed manual transmission. The exterior two tone silver / burgundy paint is virtually flawless complementing its well appointed burgundy leather interior. The chrome, trim and accessories all remain in outstanding condition. This is an opportunity to acquire a car that has reached Full Classic status by the Classic Car Club of America, posses an important piece of American automotive history, and obtain Pre-War motoring greatness.
